Jacqueline Contreras


Jacquelyn plans to pursue a career in pediatric nursing. Her chemistry teacher was lavish in her praise of this industrious and caring young woman, describing Jacquelyn as “always willing to help anyone in need.”
For the past two summers, Jacquelyn gone by bus every Wednesday to volunteer at the San Rafael Food Bank, where she prepared food bags and welcomed community members, often providing essential Spanish translation and information. At Redwood, Jacquelyn serves as a teaching assistant for students with special needs three morning a week.
She has been accepted as a summer volunteer at MarinHealth. She will also serve as a counselor at Marin Primary School. Additionally, she has applied to the Certified Medical Assistant program at the College of Marin to begin building her clinical skills.
She aims to attend the nursing program at Dominican University, where she is wait-listed for this very high-demand program.
Izzy has been heavily involved in community service, especially during her last two high school years.
She has been a peer team member with Youth Transforming Justice, working to create alternative restorative plans that match the harm done by the young offenders with appropriate community service.
She has also worked with Jewish Family and Children’s Services, planning events, collecting donations for “care bags” for isolated elders, making items for Ukrainian refugees, and helping to landscape an assisted-living complex for single mothers.
Isabel is a member of SLAM, Student Lead Anti-Racism Movement, helping incoming freshmen to become integrated into the high school community.
She has been accepted at Indiana University for the Fall 2026 semester. Her immediate goal is to focus on courses such as Street Law, with the ultimate goal of pursuing a degree in criminal justice.
